About the Role: Data Engineer for Advertising Technology We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our advertising business. As a Data Engineer at Netflix, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that enable us to better understand our members' behavior and preferences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and product managers, to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, to support our advertising business Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions Develop and maintain data models, data architectures, and data governance policies to ensure data quality and integrity Work with large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders Collaborate with engineers to integrate data systems with other technologies, such as machine learning models and recommendation systems Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and advertising technology Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining large-scale data systems Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Scala Experience with data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink Experience with data storage solutions such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, or data warehouses Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates who have: Experience working with advertising technology, including ad serving, ad targeting, and ad measurement Knowledge of data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP Experience with machine learning or deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, testing, and deployment Skills and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Strong technical skills, including programming, data processing, and data storage Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities: At Netflix, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
