Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to work with our transportation analytics crew, assisting customers in navigating complex data sets to make informed decisions. As a Data Analyst at blithequark, you will have the opportunity to work with large, messy, and disparate datasets, conducting ad-hoc analyses to inform critical business decisions. Key Responsibilities Work with large, messy, and disparate datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses and inform critical business decisions Develop ETLs or processes to pull data from multiple locations and centralize it in a single table Create data visualizations using Tableau to display and quantify the impact of changes and specific business challenges Engage with team members and cross-functional groups on a periodic basis to establish credibility and analyze stakeholder needs Partner with Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate tasks related to reporting, such as screenshots, metrics prioritization, and outlier detection Document processes and share expertise with colleagues, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (2-4 years of experience) Creativity with a User Experience basis to develop impactful Tableau Dashboards (1-2 years of experience) Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to understand and root cause business problems, and a Supply Chain background, ideally with transportation experience Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations Experience with Python or other scripting languages Experience with data manipulation tools, including Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Data analysis and interpretation : The ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets to inform business decisions Communication and collaboration : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Problem-solving and creativity : The ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex business problems Technical skills : Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and scripting languages, such as Python Business acumen : A strong understanding of business operations and the ability to apply data analysis to drive business outcomes Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
