Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to work with our transportation analytics crew, a business intelligence team that drives the transportation department's daily operations. As a Data Analyst, you will assist our customers in navigating complex data sets to make informed decisions in a timely manner. You will work closely with operations and finance teams to provide actionable insights and improve business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Work with large, complex datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses and inform critical business decisions Design and implement ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) or processes to pull data from multiple sources and centralize it in a single table Develop data visualizations using Tableau to display and quantify the impact of changes and specific business challenges Engage with team members and cross-functional groups to establish credibility and analyze stakeholder needs Partner with Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting tasks, including metrics prioritization and outlier detection Document processes and share expertise with colleagues, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (2-4 years of experience) Creativity with a User Experience foundation to develop impactful Tableau Dashboards (1-2 years of experience) Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to identify and root cause business problems, and a Supply Chain background with transportation experience Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations Experience with Python or other scripting languages Experience with data manipulation tools, including Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data sets Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business operations and identify areas for improvement Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and scripting languages (Python preferred) Experience with data visualization and reporting tools Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
