Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Customer Support Specialist to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. As a Customer Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in our medical records processing team, working in a high-volume production environment and providing exceptional support to our clients and customers. Your primary responsibilities will include: Processing medical record requests by taking calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to provide medical record status updates. Documenting information in multiple platforms using two computer monitors, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all interactions. Utilizing Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, to manage and analyze data related to medical records requests. Working collaboratively with our team to ensure seamless communication and resolution of customer inquiries. Maintaining a high level of productivity and meeting performance metrics in a fast-paced environment. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 1-2 years of experience in customer support, preferably in a medical records or healthcare environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide empathetic and professional support to customers. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new software applications quickly. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate for this role: Experience working in a call center or high-volume production environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA. Certification in customer support or a related field, such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist). Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers who speak languages other than English.
