**Job Summary**
As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at careerzynith, you'll play a critical role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to ensure a safe and shop-able environment, and contribute to the success of our store departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance
* Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to sell entire projects
* Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments
* Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
* Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
* Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department and other departments
* Participate in sales promotions, events, and activities to drive sales growth and customer engagement
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues to drive business results and improve customer satisfaction
**Essential Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
* 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse customers, vendors, and colleagues
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing fast, friendly service to customers
* Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash, operating a cash register, and processing transactions
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience in a retail or sales environment, with a focus on customer service and sales
* Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
* Certification in customer service or sales, such as the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or the Certified Sales Professional (CSP)
* Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages
* Experience with sales software, such as CRM systems or sales analytics tools
