You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance * Learning about products using our tools and providing information to customers to sell entire projects * Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department * Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe * Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards & unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty * Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments **Specific Store Departments** As a Customer Service/Sales associate at arenaflex, you may work in one of the following store departments: * Building Materials * D‚cor * Electrical * Flooring * Garden * Hardware * Kitchen & Bath * Lumber * Millwork * Paint * Plumbing * Tool Rental **Position Types** Our Customer Service/Sales position types may include: * Department Sales * Lead Generator * Pro Account Sales * Sales Specialist * Special Services * Customer Order Specialist **Essential Qualifications** To be successful in this role, you'll need: * High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred * 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets * Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time * Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays **Preferred Qualifications** While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial: * Experience in a retail or sales environment * Knowledge of building materials, tools, or other related products * Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems * Ability to learn and adapt to new products and technologies * Bilingual or multilingual skills **Skills and Competencies** To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets * Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At arenaflex, we're committed to helping our associates grow and develop their careers.
