As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, resolving customer issues, and ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service. This is a full-time position that requires a strong customer service background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. **Responsibilities** As a Customer Service Specialist I – ASD, you will be responsible for: * Initiating monthly service calls to a specific number of low-volume accounts in the local geographic area * Updating existing customers on the latest programs, promotional activities, products, and services * Assisting with customer problems such as missed shipments, price adjustments, and backorders * Frequently working with field sales associates in coordinating special orders, accepting quotations, typing, and manufacturer calls * Working with warehouse associates, customers, and field sales associates to ensure that the order process runs smoothly * Processing all phone, fax, mail, email, and verbal orders from customers * Providing customers with accurate answers to questions and complaints regarding products and services * Escalating customers to Customer Service Supervisor in a courteous manner * Performing data entry for purposes such as processing orders, accessing previous orders, and special orders * Researching any other inquiries as requested * Assisting customers with backorders by offering substitutions and alternatives whenever possible * Communicating with all departments within the Distribution Center as well as field sales associates * Serving as a liaison between customers and field sales associates * Making suggestions and recommendations to the Supervisor to continually improve customer service operations **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need: * A broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education * Less than one (1) year directly related experience * Strong customer service skills * Strong interpersonal skills * Good decision-making skills * Good analytical skills * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing * Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction * Familiarity with ABC products, services, and pharmaceutical distribution operations * Strong organizational skills; attention to detail * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and inventory management system **Work Environment** The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
