**Job Summary**

As a Customer Service Representative I in the Property Appraiser's office, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support to ensure their needs are met. You will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information about property values, assessments, and tax-related matters. **Key Responsibilities**

* Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate and timely information about property values, assessments, and tax-related matters.
* Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that customers are satisfied with the outcome.
* Provide information and support to customers regarding property tax exemptions, homestead exemptions, and other tax-related programs.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, including phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings.
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure that customer needs are met and that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on property tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Appraiser or designee.

**Essential Qualifications**

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, communications, public administration) preferred.
* 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience working in a property tax or assessment office.
* Knowledge of property tax laws and regulations.
* Bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, English, etc.).
* Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
* Certification in customer service or a related field (e.g., Certified Customer Service Representative, Certified Public Administrator, etc.).
