About the Role As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to customers navigating the Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your primary responsibilities will include participating in outbound call campaigns, answering incoming customer calls, and responding to customer questions in a professional and positive manner. Key Responsibilities Participate in high-volume outbound and inbound call campaigns based on assigned call lists, ensuring consistent high-quality service to customers. Adhere to approved call scripts and compliance guidelines, utilizing software, scripts, and tools appropriately to respond to customer questions. Provide empathic support to customers, documenting all encounters in clear and concise online logs. Utilize active listening skills to identify customer issues and direct callers to the appropriate party if necessary. Maintain a professional phone voice and etiquette, ensuring the highest standards of customer service. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Four to six months of customer service experience in a call center environment. Good customer service skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional phone voice and etiquette, with the ability to follow instructions and scripts. Skilled in active listening, with proficient computer skills and good typing skills. Strong time management and decision-making skills, with knowledge of the FAFSA and college financial aid and admissions processes. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Work experience in a college financial aid office or administrative office. Knowledge of college financial aid and admissions processes, with a strong understanding of the FAFSA. Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to self-motivate and manage time effectively.
