Experienced Customer Service Representative – Federal Student Loan Program Support

**Job Summary**
We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Remote Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional support to borrowers regarding federal student loan programs. **Key Responsibilities**
As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
* Responding to incoming borrower calls, chats, and making outbound calls in a friendly and professional manner
* Counseling and informing borrowers of their repayment options, deferments, and forbearance eligibility
* Taking loan payments and updating borrower accounts in an efficient manner
* Locating needed information and minimizing the time borrowers are put on hold
* Maintaining the security and privacy of borrowers to protect both the borrower and our partners
* Working an 8-hour shift with a one 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks
* Utilizing strong computer skills to navigate our systems and software
**Essential Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A high school diploma or equivalent, with some college or bachelor's degree preferred
* The ability to pass a pre-employment cognitive and personality assessment
* The ability to obtain a Federal 5C Security Clearance and credit check
* Residency in or near the Dallas-Fort Worth area
* Excellent organization, written, and verbal communication skills
* The ability to multitask (type while talking)
* Access to a home internet connection with at least 10 mg capacity and a router for an ethernet cord
* A quiet and distraction-free workspace at home
**Preferred Qualifications**
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
* Previous customer service experience in a call center or similar environment
* Familiarity with federal student loan programs and repayment options
* Experience with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and software
* Bilingual or multilingual skills
**Skills and Competencies**
To excel in this role, you'll need to possess:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
