Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing sales with customers in your department

Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe for customers and employees
Work collaboratively with your Department Supervisor and other associates to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive store environment
Develop knowledge of adjacent departments to provide comprehensive support to customers and enhance the overall shopping experience
Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions, reporting them to the Manager on Duty as needed, to ensure a safe working and shopping environment


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and management. A strong knowledge of products and services, as well as the ability to learn and adapt quickly, is also essential. Additionally, you should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in customer service, sales, or retail, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences
Knowledge of products and services in specific store departments, such as Building Materials, DΓ©cor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
