Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled Attractions Mechanic to join our team at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. As an Attractions Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining the magic of our parks and attractions, ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable experience. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $26 per hour, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth and development. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of ride and show mechanical assets or equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety Respond promptly to trouble tickets at a park or attraction, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner Conduct daily checks, startup or shutdown sequencing of a ride, and perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of our attractions Work with cleaning chemicals and supplies, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including face shields, goggles, and refillable hand sanitizers Collaborate with other team members to maintain a safe and efficient working environment, and participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques Essential Qualifications Valid Florida Driver's License Experience with practices including millwright mechanical work, such as gearbox assemblies, bearing replacement, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, restraint systems, brake and wheel assemblies Practical experience with repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems Ability to interpret schematics and prints, and use diagrams to verify dimensions, materials, parts, and specifications Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of noise and activity Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering or a similar discipline Experience working in a theme park or attractions environment, with knowledge of safety protocols and procedures Certifications or training in areas such as OSHA, lockout/tagout, or other relevant safety protocols Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other maintenance software Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages commonly spoken by our international guests Career Growth and Development At The Walt Disney Company, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
