Position Summary and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a vibrant and programmatic line of research in hearing science/audiology, with a strong publication record and current or clear potential for extramural funding. The position is a tenure-track/tenured, 10-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. Key responsibilities include:

Conducting research in hearing science/audiology, with a focus on advancing the field and contributing to the department's research mission
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, with a commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy
Mentoring students, including advising and supervising research projects
Providing service to the department, university, and profession, including participating in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives
Contributing to the development and implementation of departmental and university-wide initiatives, including those related to diversity, equity, and inclusion


Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

A Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences or a related field (e.g., psychology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience) at the time of hire
An established record of research productivity, with a strong publication record and current or clear potential for extramural funding
Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the academic community
Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with a commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds

Preferred qualifications include:

Experience in developing and implementing departmental and university-wide initiatives, including those related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Experience in collaborating with faculty and staff from other departments and units, including those in the health sciences and social sciences
