Job Overview and Responsibilities We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Jersey City, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our ideal candidate will be a team player who is dedicated to providing high-quality education to students and supporting the school community. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include: Teaching students in a classroom setting, following the lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher Managing the classroom environment, ensuring that students are engaged and focused on their learning Providing individualized support to students as needed, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of the students Communicating effectively with school administrators, teachers, and other staff members to ensure a smooth and successful teaching experience Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Building positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications and requirements: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our Substitute Teachers.
