About the Role We are seeking experienced and passionate part-time tutors to join our team in Newport Beach, California. As a tutor with Collegewise, you will have the opportunity to work with high school students and graduate students, instructing them in a variety of subjects, including ACT, SAT, ISEE/SSAT, Subject Tests, AP exams, IB subjects, academic subjects, and study skills. You will also have the chance to teach GRE and GMAT to graduate students. Key Responsibilities Instruct students privately at our offices or online via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, or other platforms Prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve Communicate effectively with parents and students to ensure that everyone is informed and aligned with the tutoring plan Collaborate with other tutors and staff members to share best practices and ensure a cohesive approach to tutoring Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have a four-year college degree and the ability to score in the required percentile for your chosen subjects. Specifically, we are looking for tutors who can score in the: 99th percentile or above in selected subjects for ACT/SAT, Subject Tests, or AP exams 95th percentile on the associated Subject Test(s) for academic subjects 90th percentile for GMAT and GRE tutors Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for tutors who possess the following skills and qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to teens and present yourself as a professional to adults A strong passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to tutoring Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities A positive and supportive attitude, with a willingness to go above and beyond to help students succeed Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Collegewise, we are committed to the growth and development of our tutors.
