Job Overview As a Floating Daycare Teacher at TLE Astoria, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and development of our infant, toddler, and preschool-aged children. We are seeking a talented individual who can work with a range of age groups, from infants to 4-year-olds, and support our inquiry-based learning approach. Key Responsibilities: Work with a range of age groups, including infants, toddlers, 2's, 3's, and 4-year-olds, to ensure their overall development and well-being Support progressive and inquiry-based learning, engaging children in interactive play and positive language Closely supervise children and adhere to robust health and safety protocols to maintain a safe and secure environment Develop and lead a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that inspires young minds and fosters a love of learning Communicate regularly with parents through various avenues, including mobile apps and personal discussions, to keep them informed about their child's progress and adventures Build strong relationships with families and coworkers to create an inviting environment where play and learning happen seamlessly Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following requirements: At least 3 years of experience working in childcare, with a proven track record of supporting the development of infant, toddler, and preschool-aged children Meet state-specific guidelines for the role, ensuring you are compliant with all regulatory requirements Be vaccinated against Covid-19, as the health and safety of our children and staff are our top priority Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, demonstrating your commitment to the profession and your passion for working with young children Experience with progressive and inquiry-based learning approaches, with a deep understanding of how to engage children in interactive and play-based learning Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, coworkers, and the broader community Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Flexibility and adaptability: the ability to work with a range of age groups and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Creativity and resourcefulness: the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to support children's learning and development Communication and interpersonal skills: the ability to build strong relationships with families, coworkers, and the broader community, and to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff Emotional intelligence and empathy: the ability to understand and respond to the emotional needs of children, families, and staff, and to create a nurturing and supportive environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At TLE Astoria, we are committed to supporting the ongoing development and growth of our staff.
