About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Elementary School Tutor to join our team in Appleton, WI. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, one-on-one tutoring to elementary school students in a variety of subjects, including but not limited to reading, writing, mathematics, and science Develop and implement personalized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs and learning styles of each student Teach executive, organizational, and study skills to help students develop essential life skills and achieve academic success Provide regular progress reports to our office and families, highlighting student achievements and areas for improvement Respond to existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests in a timely and professional manner Utilize technology, including databases and online resources, to enhance the tutoring experience and improve student outcomes Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should have: Ideally 2 years of experience in the education field, with a focus on elementary school education Experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in specialized education fields such as dysgraphia, discalculia, and dyslexia A strong understanding of child development and learning theories, as well as the ability to adapt to different learning styles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, as well as experience with database management and data entry Reliable transportation, with current car insurance, and access to a computer, internet, and smartphone Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Credentials or certifications in education, such as a teaching license or specialized training in areas like special education or English as a second language Graduate degree in education or a related field, such as child development or educational psychology Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners Knowledge of curriculum design and development, as well as experience with standardized testing and assessment Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Patience and empathy : The ability to work with students who may be struggling or frustrated, and to provide a supportive and non-judgmental learning environment Flexibility and adaptability : The ability to adjust to changing circumstances, including unexpected schedule changes or shifts in student needs Strong communication skills : The ability to clearly and effectively communicate with students, families, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing Organizational skills : The ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, including lesson planning, progress reporting, and communication with families Technical skills : Proficiency in basic computer software, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, as well as experience with database management and data entry Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Green Wing Inc/Tutoring Wisconsin, we are committed to the growth and development of our tutors.
