About the Role As a Garlough Targeted Services Teacher, you will be responsible for providing instruction to small groups of elementary school students, grades 1-4, in reading, math, and social skills. You will develop and utilize instructional materials suitable for a wide range of learning styles, providing individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs. Your strong organizational skills, human relation skills, and ability to work well with elementary school students will enable you to establish and maintain standards of student and classroom management, creating a safe and positive environment for effective learning. Key Responsibilities: Provide instruction on reading with small groups of elementary school students, grades 1-4 Develop and use instructional material suitable for a wide range of learning styles Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs Establish and maintain standards of student and classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities without interfering with the atmosphere of class Record and/or monitor the attendance of students in the program Create a safe and positive environment for effective learning Evaluate academic and social growth of students and keep appropriate records and assessment data Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a valid Minnesota teaching license and have a strong desire and skills to help struggling students. You should be organized, have good human relation skills, and be able to work well with elementary school students. Desired qualifications include responsive classroom teaching and self-starter skills.
