Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and certified High School Math Teacher to provide instruction to students in grades 9-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum and lesson plans, utilizing technology to facilitate learning, and demonstrating an understanding of the varying learning styles and needs of a diverse student population. This is a 100% remote role, giving you full control over your work environment and allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners Utilize technology to facilitate learning and engage students Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to promote student achievement Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues to ensure student success Participate in staff development and professional growth activities to stay current with best practices in math education Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs Provide instruction in core and age-appropriate curriculum, assessing initial knowledge or skills and making appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies Develop and implement instructional activities for students, including remediation and enrichment opportunities Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, enforcing school rules and policies as needed Essential Qualifications Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college Valid Connecticut teaching certificate in Mathematics (Grades 7-12) Strong knowledge of core curriculum areas, including mathematics and educational philosophy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations and learning styles Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field Experience teaching mathematics in a high school setting Knowledge of educational technology and software, including online learning platforms and math-specific programs Experience with project-based learning and differentiated instruction Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations and learning styles Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to use technology to facilitate learning and engage students Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Waterbury Public Schools, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our teachers.
