Estate Planning Attorney for High Net Worth Estates (Texas)

Duffley Law is a Texas-based law firm, and we’re looking for an estate planning attorney experienced with complex trust-based estate plans to join our growing Texas estate planning practice. This is a remote opportunity for a detail-oriented attorney licensed in Texas to create effective estate plans for our high-net-worth clients. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced attorney who wants to supplement an existing estate planning practice. If you have not created trust-based estate plans for estates worth more than $15 million, often including irrevocable trusts, you should not apply for this specific role. Our Core Values • Everyone is a potential client • Work product is king • It’s better to be slow and accurate than fast and wrong • We’re the last line of defense About the Role You will be assigned estate planning matters by our team for complex estates and high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Here's what the process will look like: • Our team onboards a new client to complete a trust-based estate plan. • Our team introduces you to that client and provides you with key details about the client's proposed plan. • You conduct an introductory call with the client to confirm goals and gather any remaining details necessary for the plan. You propose any adjustments to the initial plan structure as well, which may necessitate pricing changes. • You draft all necessary estate planning documents (typically including revocable living trust agreements, irrevocable trust agreements, wills, POAs, HIPAA releases, advance directives, etc.). • You communicate with the client's financial advisors or tax professionals as necessary to complete the plan drafts according to the client's goals. • You do a review call with the client to walk through the documents to ensure the client understands them, and to identify any necessary revisions or adjustments. • You make any necessary revisions and finalize the documents for signing. • You notify the team that the documents are ready to sign. • Our team coordinates the document signings from there (you do not need to attend signings). In short, you are responsible for getting the plan documents ready up to the point of signing, and for advising the client along the way. Our team will handle the marketing, consultations, and sales. Your focus will be on ensuring every client receives a high-quality, accurate estate plan. This is a 1099 contract position. You will receive 20% of the flat fee of each matter. • Typical attorney earnings: $1,000+ per matter. Larger / complex estates can exceed $2,000+ attorney earnings per matter. • No sales or signing logistics - you focus on legal work • Opportunity to scale to multiple matters per month We’re looking for an attorney who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow with us.
