ESL Teacher in New York, NY

Desired Skills & Experience:
• Current teaching certification in either general education or ESL (or both)
• Experience teaching ESL or English Language Learners in a K-12 setting
• Strong understanding of second language acquisition and culturally responsive teaching
• Ability to design engaging lessons for learners with varying English proficiency
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver ESL instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Support language development across reading, writing, listening, and speaking
• Modify and adapt general education classroom materials for English learners
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to integrate language objectives into content lessons
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of growth and achievement
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and support staff regarding student development
