About the position Responsibilities • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area. • Assist with the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse/department lead. • Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served. • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team (MDT). • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring respect for privacy and appropriate communication styles. • Perform other related duties as required. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. • Ability to communicate therapeutically with psychiatric and mentally ill patients. • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Nice-to-haves • Prior experience in a psychiatric environment preferred. • Experience with computer data entry preferred.
