ESG Data Analyst

Malk Partners is a consulting firm that advises investors on risk management and responsible investment. The ESG Data Analyst will support ESG data client projects by developing tailored data strategies, collecting and analyzing ESG data, and creating deliverables for clients. Responsibilities Execute ESG data client projects, including supporting strategy creation, data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting, typically supporting on 3-5 overlapping projects in a given week Development of ESG data collection surveys, tailored to GP client needs, industry frameworks (e.g., EDCI, SFDR), and sectoral materiality Coordinating with GP client’s portfolio companies to support accurate and timely data collection, leading email coordination and eventually supporting on live calls Develop validation tools and processes to ensure data quality Analyze data trends and compile insights into client deliverables like reports and data packs Cultivate understanding of core ESG data frameworks (EDCI, SFDR, TCFD, etc.) and LP expectations Support with ongoing evolution and improvements of Malk’s ESG data offerings through process efficiency improvements, training materials, internal best practice-sharing, and insight delivery Leverage a range of internal and third-party data tools to complete client ESG data projects and be a resource to broader team on the integration of these tools Skills Exceptional Excel and quantitative analysis skills Strong communication skills Project management skills Time management skills Attention to detail At least 1 year of professional experience Experience with relational databases Experience with data visuals/dashboards Familiarity with SQL Good writing skills Good research skills Good qualitative reasoning skills Previous experience in consulting roles Experience working with private equity Experience in ESG/Sustainability (e.g., via internships or academic projects) Strong academic track record Background in data science Background in business analytics Background in computer science Self-starters Multi-taskers Critical thinkers Ability to work across multiple different teams Benefits Discretionary bonus eligible Company Overview Malk Partners is a consultancy advising private equity firms that specializes in ESG management & investing.
