THE ROLE:

Reporting directly to the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Manager, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Adviser will play a key role in supporting ScotRail’s equality, diversity, and inclusion and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring they are successfully delivered and culturally embedded across all areas of the business.

THE PERSON:

You will be a proactive advocate for inclusion, applying your knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) duties. You will draw on your experience in designing and delivering initiatives that strengthen inclusion and employee engagement, helping to foster a workplace culture where all colleagues feel recognised, valued, and enabled to thrive within a diverse and inclusive environment.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

* Degree qualified in a Human Resources, Social Science or Business Management discipline or equivalent experience.

* An understanding and awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and best practices principles.

* Ability to design and deliver high-quality EDI, recognition and engagement initiatives.

* Theory and application of employee engagement within an organisation including the key drivers of engagement, engagement tools and techniques and the identification and mitigation of the barriers to engagement.

* Proven skills in delivering high quality work within constrained timescales

* Proactive self-starter combined with a clear need to achieve the highest quality outcomes

* Strong analytical and conceptual reasoning skills, able to communicate well in writing

* Strong, credible impact, with sophisticated negotiation and conflict resolution style; able to take people with them

DESIRABLE:

* Experience in supporting the delivery of aspects of the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) within a public sector organisation.

* In-depth understanding and proven skills in data driven evaluation methodologies.

* Exposure to or understanding of workforce planning and organisational metrics.
