We are currently seeking a Epic Cogito Engineer - Remote to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).
An Epic Cogito Engineer specializes in the data and analytics infrastructure that powers reporting and business intelligence within Epic. "Cogito" is Epicâs suite of tools for data extraction, warehousing, and reporting, including Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, and Reporting Workbench
Data Integration and ETL Development:
Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes from Epicâs Chronicles database to Clarity (SQL-based) and Caboodle (Epicâs enterprise data warehouse).Use tools like Epicâs Clarity ETL, Caboose, or custom SQL/SSIS packages to move data reliably and efficiently.
Data Warehouse Management (Clarity & Caboodle):
Maintain and optimize the Clarity and Caboodle databases to ensure accurate, timely, and performant reporting.
Implement data refresh strategies, monitor data loads, and troubleshoot failures in data pipelines.
Reporting and Analytics Support:
Support reporting tools and teams by ensuring data models are current, accurate, and optimized.
Collaborate with report writers, data analysts, and operational leaders to ensure that data meets their needs (e.g., SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau).
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and ETL jobs to improve data access speed and reduce system resource consumption.
Work proactively to prevent performance bottlenecks in large data sets and complex reporting environments.
Collaboration, Security, and Compliance:
Work closely with Epic application teams, database administrators, and security teams to ensure compliance with data governance and HIPAA regulations.
Manage user access, roles, and security settings in Cogito-related environments (Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer).
