Environmental Engineer Licensed Specialist 14 - Surface Water Treatment Engineer
This position collaborates with a team of experienced engineers at EGLE to resolve complex issues. The surface water treatment specialist has primary responsibility for performing sanitary surveys, surveillance visits, and reviewing plans, specifications, and permit applications for community water supplies which have treatment plants subject to the Surface Water Treatment Rules. The surface water treatment specialist also has primary responsibility for reviewing monthly operation reports and serves as the main contact for communities subject to the Surface Water Treatment Rules.

• Helping operators identify, troubleshoot, and correct turbidity data anomalies.
• Contributing to a team of professionals in charge of responding to water system emergencies.
Position Description
The work location for this position will be either the Bay City, Gaylord, or Marquette District Office, determined based on the selected candidate. However, the selected candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule (combination of remote and in-person) or a fully remote work schedule (with occasional travel to their official work location). Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan. When working remote, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access. Details regarding work location and schedule options for this position may be discussed during the interview process. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. Five years of experience equivalent to an Environmental Engineer, including three years equivalent to an Environmental Engineer P11, two years equivalent to an Environmental Engineer 12 or Environmental Engineer Licensed 12; or, one year equivalent to an Environmental Engineering Specialist 13 or Environmental Engineering Licensed Specialist 13.
