Position Overview: Pharmacist – Patient Care & Pharmacy Operations

As a valued member of the arenaflex pharmacy team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring efficient pharmacy operations. This position combines traditional pharmacy responsibilities with opportunities for remote support, creating a flexible and dynamic work experience. Key Responsibilities

Patient Experience & Engagement

Greet and engage patients warmly, offering personalized assistance with their healthcare needs and wellness products
Resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring every interaction results in a positive experience
Model and promote exceptional customer service standards, demonstrating genuine care through welcoming attitudes, positive body language, and attentiveness to patient needs
Anticipate patient needs by proactively offering services such as medication counseling, prescription management, and health consultations
Support efforts to enhance patient experience by increasing awareness of healthcare services offered through arenaflex, including patient consultations, medication therapy management, and clinical services such as vaccinations and diagnostic testing
Participate in community events and outreach programs that reflect our commitment to the unique communities we serve


Pharmacy Operations & Clinical Services

Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining proper medication usage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and contraindications
Answer patient questions regarding prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and generic alternatives, referring to medical providers when necessary to ensure safe and effective therapy
Perform pharmacist duties including medication compounding, drug therapy reviews, prescription verification, and comprehensive medication management
Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure the pharmacy operates in full compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and quality standards
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy technology systems including workflow management, prescription processing, billing, clinical documentation, and inventory control
Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve patient issues and prevent payment denials
Follow up with clinical providers' offices to clarify prescription details, dosages, refill authorizations, and drug interactions
Administer clinical and health services including vaccinations, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and other healthcare services as authorized
Support pharmacy management in analyzing performance data, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, and implementing strategies for inventory management and asset protection
Develop and maintain strong relationships with the local medical community including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers
Participate in community outreach activities to promote pharmacy services and enhance public health
Collaborate with centralized support teams for patient enrollment, exception resolution, and issue resolution
In remote settings, conduct virtual medication reviews following specific company procedures and guidelines


Leadership & Team Development

Support the Pharmacy Manager in staff hiring and training initiatives
Establish clear performance expectations and provide constructive feedback to pharmacy team members
Monitor customer service quality and foster continuous colleague development
Promote teamwork and motivate colleagues by setting expectations, recognizing achievements, and cultivating a shared vision for exceptional patient care


Professional Development & Continuing Education

Maintain current knowledge and required licensing, credentials, and certifications as established by federal and state regulations
Stay current with pharmacy and healthcare industry developments by reviewing professional journals, publications, and communications
Pursue ongoing professional development through performance self-assessment, seeking constructive feedback, and utilizing pharmacy leadership as mentors
Complete required training modules, certifications, and continuing education credits as mandated by the organization
Communicate relevant corporate health and wellness initiatives and procedural updates to pharmacy staff


Essential Qualifications


Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited educational institution
Licensure: Current, valid pharmacist licensure in the applicable state(s) within the assigned region
Experience: Demonstrated experience performing prescription dispensing activities with strong knowledge of relevant state and federal controlled substance regulations
Certification: Certified Immunizer or willingness to obtain immunization certification within 90 days of hire


Preferred Qualifications


Minimum of two years of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting
Experience with prescription filling, verification, records management, and legal compliance
Proficiency in pharmacy operations, software systems, and technology platforms
Knowledge of insurance processing and claims resolution
