About the position The Entry-Level Medical Scribe position at ProScribe involves working closely with healthcare providers to document patient interactions in real-time. This role is essential for improving the efficiency and productivity of healthcare delivery, allowing providers to focus on patient care. The scribe will accompany the provider in the exam room, recording detailed information into electronic medical records (EMR) and assisting with various administrative tasks. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and is ideal for individuals pursuing a pre-health career track. Responsibilities • Listen and observe patient-provider interactions to document accurately in real-time. • Record detailed information into the electronic medical record (EMR) on a laptop or computer. • Assist providers with administrative tasks such as handling phone calls and retrieving lab reports. • Improve efficiency and productivity for better patient flow and satisfaction. • Maintain high professional and ethical standards while handling confidential patient information. Requirements • High school diploma or GED required. • Typing speed of 45+ WPM, with a preferred test speed of 70 WPM. • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is preferred. • Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to operate a personal computer and related software applications. • Strong attention to detail and project management skills. Nice-to-haves • Experience in a dynamic, highly stressful environment. • Shadowing, internship, volunteer, or research experience in healthcare. • Open availability during weekday daytime hours.
