About the position: Entry-level Designer (0-3 years)
SWA is seeking talented, design oriented candidates with zero to three years of professional experience in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, or planning fields. Dual degree holders in landscape architecture and another field are encouraged to apply. New graduates are welcome to apply. In-person strongly preferred.
Working with us in this role, you may be responsible for:
ā¢ Design
ā¢ 3D modeling
ā¢ Rendering
ā¢ Producing presentation graphics and presentations
ā¢ Assisting in preparation of construction drawings/documents, sets
ā¢ Attending and participating in meetings
ā¢ Work with senior designers on a collaborative team
Job location: New York, NY; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Laguna Beach, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Sausalito, CA
Requirements:
ā¢ A professional undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in landscape architecture, architecture, planning, or urban design.
The ideal candidate has:
ā¢ 0-3 years professional experience in a design office
ā¢ Strong design skills
ā¢ Strong graphics and 3D modeling skills
ā¢ Strong problem solving, critical thinking skills, analysis
ā¢ Attention to detail and organization
ā¢ Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
ā¢ Effective time management skills
ā¢ Leadership qualities and ability to take initiative; self-motivation
ā¢ Ability to take direction
ā¢ Positive attitude
ā¢ Sense of accountability
ā¢ Experience from a previous internship
ā¢ Technical understanding or landscape architecture site development elements
ā¢ Proficiency in:
ā¢ AutoCAD 2018+
ā¢ Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, especially)
ā¢ Microsoft Office
ā¢ 3D modeling in Rhino (SketchUp optional)
ā¢ Google Earth Pro
ā¢ Additional experience with the following is desirable:
ā¢ Preparation of construction drawings and documents
ā¢ Lumion
ā¢ Revit
ā¢ Grasshopper
ā¢ ArcMap/ArcGIS
ā¢ Bluebeam REvu
ā¢ Hand sketching
