About the Opportunity

As an IT Summer Intern with Delta Air Lines, you'll have the chance to work on exciting projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain hands-on experience in the field of data analytics, software development, and technology innovation. Depending on the assigned team, you may be involved in:


Developing computer software applications
Conducting business analysis and data analytics
Providing technical assistance for IT operations
Assisting in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications and infrastructure environments
Creating performance dashboards and service level agreements with various products


You'll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing various technologies such as Java/JEE, JSON, Spring, Angular, Agile/DevOps delivery, API, JavaScript, C++ on Linux, Python, REST, XML, web services, HTML, Oracle, and emerging mobile technologies.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)


Be available to work the full 13-week summer internship program (May 13 – August 9, 2024)
Be willing to work from either the Atlanta or Minneapolis-St. Paul office (as agreed upon during the interview)
Have a 2.5 GPA or better and have completed at least 2 years in a university program, with a degree emphasis in Computer Science, Software Development, Systems/Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics/Operations Research, Cyber Security, Business Management, or a related field
Possess strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills
Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles
Consistently prioritize the safety and security of self and others
Have an interest in solving complex problems and be willing to invest time and effort to overcome roadblocks and learn from mistakes
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Software Dev Lifecycle, and cloud computing, as well as PC hardware components and/or maintenance
Be able to conduct yourself in a mature manner and be comfortable working in a business casual work environment
Be interested in working for Delta Air Lines after graduation if offered a full-time job

Ability to digest large amounts of data and statistics and succinctly explain what can be learned from the data and how it can assist decision-making

Passion for working on cloud computing and technologies such as Mobile apps, Enterprise Web apps, APIs, Messaging, Databases, Big Data, or Artificial Intelligence
