Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer/ Soil Scientist

They are currently seeking Entry Level Engineers, Geologists, and Soil Scientists to support their geotechnical consulting practice, involving field and office duties related to foundation design and construction projects. Responsibilities Executing subsurface exploration and in-situ testing programs to evaluate soil and bedrock conditions in connection with foundation design & construction projects Performing field construction observation during installation of shallow and deep foundation installation and testing, underpinning and other tasks related to underground construction and ground improvement for compliance with plans and specifications Evaluating field data and performing engineering analyses/calculations, such as slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, lateral pile analyses, and design/evaluation of earth support and underpinning systems (Experience with software such as SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, LPile, Settle3, and Plaxis is a plus) Writing field summary reports, drafts of field and engineering reports, technical specifications, and other technical documents Preparing construction cost/quantity estimates Assisting with submittal reviews and requests for information during construction Communicating effectively and efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members Skills BS degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering 1+ years of professional work experience Effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities Ability to work independently or in a team setting Ability to work locally and regionally Candidate must possess a valid driver's license in good standing Have a consistent means of transportation to/from project sites Master's Degree Experience with software such as SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, LPile, Settle3, and Plaxis Benefits Professional development and a focus on continued education and learning (including tuition reimbursement) Flexible hybrid work environment Small firm feel with a larger firm reputation and resources Mentorship from experts in the industry Generous, company-subsidized benefits package, including paid time off, paid holidays and wellness time, medical, dental, vision, and 401k retirement plan Company Overview GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is a employee owned consulting firm and provider of diversified technical service.
