Entry Level Automation Engineer
DMC Engineering is a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in innovative solutions for various industries. They are seeking an entry-level automation engineer to develop automated test systems and collaborate with project teams while providing support to senior engineers.ResponsibilitiesUnderstands complex system designs including ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systemsAll engineers at DMC focus on programming and software solutions, such as: Controls programming including food and beverage processing and packaging, automotive assembly lines, and packaging machinery controlsDevelop automated test systems for a variety of industries and applications, including, EV battery test systems, aerospace and rocket test, turnkey test system, and cloud-enabled test and measurement systemsCollaborate with project teams of varying sizes and experience levelsAssist senior engineers in scoping, estimating, and proposing new projectsManage tasks with project teams, prioritizing needs and addressing risks and roadblocksConsult with clients on status updates, maintaining positive rapport while addressing requestsTravel to customer manufacturing sites for solution commissioning, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systemsDevelop and grow leadership skillsNote: 25-50% travel is required for some positions, with additional benefits for higher travel commitmentSkillsMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the futureBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related fieldMinimum GPA of 3.4Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering fundamentalsInterest and ability to program in text-based languages and object-oriented conceptsQuick learner with a strong desire for continuous improvementStrong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external collaborationAccess to a reliable vehicle for work-related travelTo conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), applicants for employment at DMC must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylumCompany OverviewDMC is an established project-based engineering and software development firm founded in 1996 serving customers worldwide from our offices in Chicago, Austin, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Nashville, New York City, San Diego, Seattle, St. It was founded in 1996, and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, USA, with a workforce of 201-500 employees.
