English as a Second Language Adjunct Instructor
About the position The Humanities Division has openings to teach on-campus and hybrid sections of ESL courses. The primary responsibilities of these positions are to teach courses, maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback. This position meets once a week at the downtown campus. Please note that this is an adjunct pool. We will only contact applicants as needed for classes. Responsibilities • Teach ESL courses on-campus and in hybrid format • Maintain office hours for mentoring and coaching students • Engage in success and retention activities • Utilize a learning management system (e.g., Blackboard) for communication and feedback Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in TESOL, linguistics, foreign language, or English • At least 2 years of ESL teaching experience Nice-to-haves • Master's degree in a relevant field • Experience with intersectional, inclusive instruction • Demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and student engagement • Experience working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds • Commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment Apply tot his job
