Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician will independently produce engineering design plans for public works projects and land development, working closely with an engineering design team from initial concepts to final plan production. Responsibilities Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team Drafting grading, drainage, utility, street frontage improvements, and stormwater management plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D grading feature lines and utility pipe networks Preparing drawings per company and public agency CAD standards and project-dependent CAD specifications Skills 0-2 years of experience in a position requiring intensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D Experience drafting on-site and off-site improvement drawings for land development projects General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, etc Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D grading feature lines and utility pipe networks Preparing drawings per company and public agency CAD standards and project-dependent CAD specifications Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team Drafting grading, drainage, utility, street frontage improvements, and stormwater management plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D Understanding Civil3D, AutoCAD Basic understanding of Civil Engineering Basic understanding of topographic and boundary surveys Ability to understand and interpret design intent as communicated by engineers Collaboration: Effective working relationships with management, coworkers, subordinates and clients Problem Solving: The ability to develop a timely, efficient solution or alternative when posed with a problem Responsiveness/Communication: Communicating in a prompt and professional manner Self-Responsible: Taking control and accountability Efficient: Ability to maintain focus, stay organized, manage multiple tasks and complete work within deadlines Adaptable: Ability to modify practices, systems or attitudes to align with new requirements Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff) Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.) Ability to lift and/or carry items (up to 20 lbs.)
