We're seeking a growth-oriented and technically grounded Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional team in building a robust data ingestion service and scalable data platform that power the Arcadia ecosystem as we expand our capabilities.This role is pivotal in shaping the direction, scalability, and reliability of the foundational services that power our products, both today and in the future. You will partner with engineers and technical leads, gain hands-on leadership experience, and play a key part in the evolution of our data platform.Youāll collaborate closely with product managers, DevOps, data engineers, QA, and software engineers to design, implement, and deploy user-friendly, maintainable, and efficient applications and solutions that drive real value for our customers.What Success Looks LikeIn 3 months- Build strong relationships with your team and key cross-functional partners (Product, DevOps, QA)- Contribute to roadmap and prioritization discussions with engineering leadershipIn 6 months- Act as the technical point of contact for ingestionāsupport architecture decisions, unblock engineers, and advocate for roadmap investments in scalability and performance- Develop a deep understanding of Arcadiaās data ingestion architecture and toolingIn 12 months- Own the long-term technical strategy for ingestion servicesādefine direction, drive consensus, and lead execution across teams when needed- Spearhead cross-functional initiatives that improve ingestion platform scalability, cloud-native modernization, or onboarding of new data sources What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Vision & Execution: Support and contribute to the roadmap for our data platform. Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure the teamās goals align with company priorities and customer needs.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage a small team of engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally. Create a collaborative environment that encourages ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.
Technical Guidance: Provide hands-on support and technical direction on key projects, while leaning on senior engineers and architects to make informed, scalable decisions.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across engineering, product, and operations to ensure delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable software.
Operational Excellence: Encourage high standards in testing, deployment, observability, and reliability. Participate in planning for system improvements and technical debt reduction, with a focus on long-term maintainability. What You'll Bring 5+ years of experience in software development, with 1-3 years of formal or informal technical leadership or management experience (e.g. team lead, project lead, mentoring).Demonstrated ability to lead small teams or projects and collaborate across functions.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficient in leveraging AI tools and techniques to improve productivity, code quality, and decision-making workflows.Self-directed and highly dependable, with a demonstrated ability to drive outcomes independently in a fast-paced environment.Deep understanding of data pipelines, ingestion workflows, and distributed data systems.Familiarity with the following technologies: SQL, NoSQL databases, and Java. Would Love for You to Have Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure), with experience in containerized environments like Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release strategies like feature flagging.Familiarity with the following technologies: Spark, Scala, and NiFi.
