Engineering Manager

The TeamAs Deliveroo scales rapidly, we’re looking for Engineering Managers to lead, build, and grow teams of world-class engineers. Our teams are solving unique and difficult problems and you will be responsible for their technical execution and impact through ambiguity.We're looking for Engineering Managers to manage both local and remote teams, with management experience at all levels of experience, from managing one or two teams to leading at a group level.This role is based in our Bangalore office, with the requirement to be in the office at least 3 days a week. You will report into a Senior Engineering Manager or Engineering Director.ResponsibilitiesAs a manager you will lead one or more teams of Backend, iOS, Android and/or Web EngineersContribute to product strategy, set project goals and continue to support and mentor your teamGuide technical strategy of your teamEnable your team to hit targets for group-level goals and metricsContribute to code reviews and be willing to write code, if neededBuild dashboards (DataDog, snowflake, looker, etc), if neededGrow a diverse, accomplished group of engineers, gaining fantastic exposure to scaling a tech team at a unique paceCreate a learning environment for your team and act as a mentor for engineers and up and coming leadersBecome instrumental in improving and implementing processes and values that scaleProvide technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationallyWork with teams across product, design, operations, and moreExpectationsExperience as a line manager to a team, with at least 2 years of people management experienceExperience as a Software Engineer building user-focused products at paceExperience collaborating with managers, peers, and directs, with a mentality to encourage your team to improve their codeExperience taking your team through performance reviews and goal setting, offering advice and setting your team up for successExperience building a teamWhy DeliverooOur mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders.
