Engineering Assistant/Field Engineer (Northern CA Sacramento '25-'26)

Turner Construction Company is involved in engineering and administration of projects within the Special Projects Division. The Engineering Assistant/Field Engineer will assist in obtaining and reviewing information for project documentation, managing communications, and preparing estimates for changes in work.ResponsibilitiesAssist in obtaining and reviewing information and approvals for processing of shop drawings, product data, and samples and assist in communication of information across all levels of project teamAssist in managing other aspects of communication including submission and responses for Requests for Information (RFI’s)Assist in preparing estimates for changes in work including review of Change Order requests from subcontractorsStudy contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installationAssist in maintenance and updates of contract documents, electronic web-based documents, and project logsDistribute information required for construction to appropriate partiesAssist Engineering to ensure materials and equipment are released for fabrication or manufacture in time to meet construction scheduleAssist in preparation of final records for project including close-out documents, Operations/Maintenance (OM) Manuals, and other related documentationOther activities, duties, and responsibilities as assignedSkillsTwo years of college education from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or relevant educationMust have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a teamDemonstrate initiative and desire to learnAbility to communicate well both verbally and in writingProficient with computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft suite of applicationsBuilding construction, engineering, or equivalent experience, preferredBasic understanding of scheduling programs, desiredCompany OverviewTurner is a provider of construction services committed to making a difference in the lives of people.
