THE JOB

We are offering a six-month Out-of-Class opportunity to current regular OSE employees for an assignment as Energy Benchmarking & Tune-Ups Program Manager. You will manage multiple programs and staff for two key regulations for Seattle’s existing buildings – Annual Energy Benchmarking and Building Tune-Ups.

This work includes:
• Roll-out of the new Buildings and Energy Customer portal
• A Director’s Rules Update for the Energy Benchmarking Program
• Being the escalation point for complex issues and questions

• Understanding the implications of decisions and precedents in the short and long term
• Implemented policies, procedures, and technology with an equity lens
• An understanding of service provider and building owner needs and how they differ
• Overseen or created training, written guides and program materials to aid customers as they work to comply with regulations
• Translated City code into rule parameters
• Aligned goals across multiple programs
• Recognized when to make the decision and when to escalate matters to leadership

A successful applicant will have a professional career that reflects a commitment to reducing greenhouse gases in equitable and economically feasible ways. This career orientation should be complemented by demonstrated qualifications in some or most of the following areas:
• Managing multiple people and projects concurrently and successfully
• Building energy efficiency and resource conservation with an equity and environmental justice lens

This job is open to current regular OSE employees. It is classified as a Strategic Advisor 2, General Government, and the salary range is $56.57-$84.88. Our target range for this position is $78.03.

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Individual schedules will be based on agreement between the employee and management. This team is in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You will be able to select the other in-office day.
