About Our Client
We're partnering with a growing engineering team supporting substation design, grid modernization, and infrastructure expansion projects across Nevada. This group is heavily involved in new substation builds, system upgrades, and projects tied to renewable energy integration and increasing power demand.
Job Description
• Develop substation physical design packages (layouts, sections, elevations)
• Create and review one-line diagrams and electrical schematics
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and transmission line teams
• Support equipment selection and technical specifications
• Assist with construction support, field issues, and design updates
What you'll be working on:
• Design and engineering of high-voltage substations (69kV-500kV+)
• New substation builds and expansions (greenfield + brownfield)
• Equipment layouts, bus arrangements, and one-line diagrams
• Upgrades and modernization of existing substation infrastructure
• Supporting renewable energy interconnections and load growth

The Successful Applicant
A successful Electrical Engineer - Substation (Contract-to-Hire) should have:
• 3+ years of substation engineering experience
• Experience with high-voltage systems (69kV+)
• Background in substation physical design (P&C exposure is a plus)
• Familiarity with industry standards and utility practices
• EIT or PE is a plus
