Electrical Engineer

PolyCon Solutions seeks a remote Electrical Engineer to support our subcontractor as a part of the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Headquarters in Washington, D.C. This is a virtual position, and the candidate may live anywhere within the United States with business travel estimated to be 25% - 35% of the time. Responsibilities: The Contractor shall provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center for the accomplishment of project engineering packages: Develop site-specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance. Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all (state, local, federal, FAA, etc.) standards, construction codes, and ordinances. Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during the site survey. Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion. Compile and complete project documents as follows: Scope of work and project transmittal. Drawing and specification lists. Operational Risk Management checklists. Furnish information required for the preparation of Purchase Requests (PR) for assigned projects. Furnish information required for the preparation of NAS Change Proposals (NCP) for assigned projects. List of Government-furnished properties. Prepare Airspace case documents. Assessment of engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program Project checklists. Drawings and specifications. Engineering cost estimate for project plans per FAA Standards/guidelines. Estimated completion time and project schedule. Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e., evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents). Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering. Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit. Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects. Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA standards/guidelines. Gather data and develop Arc Flash Analysis. Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer with Electrical Engineering Design and experience with establishing power systems and calculating equipment size requirements. (Identify Panel, Breakers) Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities. Proficiency in AUTOCAD Software. Proficiency in creating and developing Arc Flash Analysis. Proficiency in SKM Software. Experience in inspecting electrical systems. Ability to travel up to 25-35% of the time. Education and Experience: Electrical Engineering Degree required from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) with at least 4- 8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in the technical domain. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer with Electrical Engineering Design and experience with establishing power systems and calculating equipment size requirements. (Identify Panel, Breakers Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability. Location/Travel: This is a virtual position, and the candidate may live anywhere within the United States. Telework is 100%. Business travel is estimated to be 25% - 35% of the time. Required Qualifications: Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12 Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET) Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB). Knowledge of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, and site work.
