Electrical Designer

As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for designing switchgear control systems and metering circuits, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product designs that meet customer needs.ResponsibilitiesDesigning switchgear control systems and metering circuits to meet specific customer application requirements using S&C automation productsDesigning panel layouts, wire harness and cable assemblies, and generating Bills of MaterialSpecifying low voltage electrical components including protection relays, RTUs, communication devices, and instrument transformersDefining requirements and writing custom instructions for production testing of control circuitsGenerating supplementary instruction sheets that describe the operation of control circuitryParticipating in cross-functional design teams to ensure customer needs are satisfied through high quality product designs that are delivered in a timely mannerProviding support and to act as a technical resource for problem solving activities in both design and production processesSkillsAssociated degree in an Electrical Field or equivalentExperience in design and drafting of electrical schematics and interconnection diagrams for low voltage control circuitsProficiency in the use of CAD systems, preferably Zuken, MicroStation, Solid Edge, or AutoCADMust be self-motivated, well organized, and skilled decision maker that is comfortable in a fast-paced design and manufacturing environmentStrong technical abilities with good interpersonal and communication skillsOutstanding problem-solving skillsExperience in design and drafting of electrical schematics and interconnection diagrams for low voltage control circuits is preferred but not requiredExperience in, or working knowledge of, medium voltage switching, and protection products and systems is not required but is a plusBenefitsAnnual incentive plan (AIP)Company OverviewS&C Electric Company is a leading provider of switching, protection, and control solutions for electric power systems.
