School-Based Special Education Teacher
Blazer Jobs is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to work in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will create a supportive learning environment tailored to the diverse needs of students, empowering them to achieve academic, social, and developmental success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific learning needs of students.
Modify and adapt general education curriculum to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Provide small group or one-on-one instruction to ensure student progress and mastery of goals.
Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and families to provide an inclusive and supportive educational experience.
Monitor and assess student progress through data collection and prepare timely reports documenting their development.
Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development as required.
Foster a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Use appropriate behavioral management strategies to address challenges and promote success in the classroom.
Ensure compliance with state and federal education laws and maintain accurate student records.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Education or a related field.
Active state teaching certification/licensure with an endorsement in special education (varies based on state).
Masters degree preferred but not required.
Previous experience working in a school-based environment is preferred.
Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and collaboration skills to effectively support students and teams.
Ability to adapt and create lesson plans that accommodate student needs.
