Economic Development Analyst, Indigenous and First Nations Community Services

Coast Funds is an Indigenous-led conservation finance organization that supports First Nations in achieving vibrant economies and conserving their homelands. They are seeking an Economic Development Analyst to assist in the administration and analysis of economic development projects for First Nations, ensuring alignment with the organization's wellbeing outcomes.ResponsibilitiesBuilding and maintaining positive, proactive relationships with participating First NationsGuiding applicants through the funding process and assessing project eligibilityCoordinating due diligence activities, including financial planning and risk assessmentsConducting financial analysis and reviewing project budgetsPreparing and coordinating documentation required for funding agreements and disbursementsRecording, tracking, and analyzing key indicators, data, and project outcomesSupporting active projects by monitoring progress, risks, and reporting requirementsContributing to wellbeing outcomes evaluation and impact analysisConducting research and analysis on provincial and federal economic development initiativesCollaborating with cross-functional teams to support meetings, materials, and project coordinationMaintaining accurate records and correspondence in CRM systemsCarrying out additional duties that support the economic development function within Coast FundsSkillsPost-secondary education in commerce, business administration, economic development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and lived experienceStrong financial and risk analysis skillsA minimum of 1-3 years of related experience in financial analysis, project evaluation, or a similar role supporting economic developmentExperience conducting business or sector research and analysisKnowledge of First Nations history, culture, governance, or community contextsFamiliarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and database toolsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe AcrobatExperience managing confidential client information and file systemsBenefitsFlexible extended health and wellness planLife insuranceRRSP programFour weeks of paid vacationOffice closure between Christmas and New Year’s as additional paid timeOpportunities for travel throughout the Great Bear Rainforest, Haida Gwaii, and Vancouver IslandTeam bonding events and a supportive work cultureAnd more!Company OverviewCoast Funds is a non-profit firm that empowers First Nations for conserving the rainforest ecosystem for the future generation.
