ECMO Specialist - 36 Hours ($10,000 sign-on bonus)
About the position Responsibilities • Initiates and/or assists with appropriate respiratory and extracorporeal life support (ECLS) tests and procedures, as ordered, to deliver appropriate care to patients. • Responds to respiratory and ECLS emergencies and transports patients when moved from units for tests and procedures. • Prepares appropriate care plan and makes specific recommendations to physician for indicated therapy. • Schedules patient treatments as necessary and provides consultation as an active member of the patient care team. • Manages the administration of all aspects of respiratory therapy and ECLS according to the policies and procedures, including ECLS equipment. • Makes regular bedside rounds and administers Respiratory Care modalities to assigned patients. • Modifies treatment care plan according to clinical picture and response to therapy. • Participates in education of students, physicians, staff, and patients/families. • Clinically supervises respiratory therapy students in patient areas. Requirements • A.S. in Respiratory Therapy. • Critical care experience 1-2 years required. • Currently licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. • Registration (RRT) by the N.B.R.C. within six (6) months of hire.
