Early Literacy Tutor - East Oakland Pride Elementary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Literacy Tutor to join our team at East Oakland Pride Elementary. As an Early Literacy Tutor, you will play a critical role in developing and improving the early literacy skills of TK - 2nd grade students. You will work closely with classroom teachers and coaches to provide data-driven literacy instruction and intervention, utilizing research-based strategies and scripted interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend training sessions, including SEEDS of Early Literacy and/or SIPPS training, and ongoing Early Literacy Tutor trainings
Provide intentional, data-driven literacy instruction and intervention to TK - 2nd grade students
Collaborate with Lead Teacher Coaches and/or Principals to set instructional schedules, report student progress, and make data-informed modifications
Implement scripted early literacy interventions with fidelity, assessing student outcomes and progress using benchmark and progress-monitoring assessments
Participate in literacy coaching sessions and record student and program data accurately and completely
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Strong interest in education, specifically helping children develop early language and literacy skills
Fluent English language skills
Computer skills, including online database systems and email
Energetic, results-oriented, student-focused style with strong planning and time management skills
Must be 18 years old or older
Preferred Qualifications:
College coursework, college degree, or equivalent work experience
Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood setting
Valid California Driver's License, if applicable
What We Offer:
Competitive salary: $16.22 - $18.74 per hour
Part-time position: 3 hours per day
