Early Career Ports and Marine Engineer

WSP USA is a leading engineering and professional services firm seeking an Early Career Ports and Marine Engineer. The role involves providing engineering support for the development, design, construction, and inspection of port and marine structures, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Responsibilities Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, survey data, technical reports and drawings, and or other data matrices for project development, design, and construction Assist with the development of project design requirements, while incorporating marine-practice engineering standards and specifications Assist with identification of project site, design and construction related risks and providing input on mitigation activities Write technical reports, generating complete and concise documentation of findings, using sketches, calculations, excel spreadsheets, technical drawings, and other engineering software Prepare presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external team members as well as clients Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. This includes working collaboratively with other engineers and larger multi-disciplinary teams, on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects Participate in site visits and inspections to gain practical insights into maritime construction processes Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures Complete all assigned trainings Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Skills Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program 0 to 1 years of experience Prior engineering internship experiences Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives Basic proficiency with technical writing, engineering software and tools, and engineering fundamentals including statics and logical problem-solving.
