DWM Contracts & Construction Coordinator (Office of Engineering Services)

The City of Atlanta is seeking a DWM Contracts & Construction Coordinator to direct and coordinate activities related to construction and service contracts. The role involves preparing legislation, coordinating procedures, advising consultants, and monitoring contracts to ensure timely execution and compliance. Responsibilities Coordinates contract review and appraisal procedures with appropriate departments and consults personnel to make recommendations Advises consultants and project managers regarding potential contractual problems and provides contractual interpretations as required Researches, interprets, and explains contract components and resolves contract-related issues as they arise Initiates and coordinates change orders to existing contracts and purchase orders Reviews proposals and makes recommendations for funding Makes recommendations to grants management as to which proposals are to be considered for funding Develops contracts with related legislation and budgets; and prepares and processes contract modifications, as warranted Uses independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations Directs and administers construction and service contracts to include procurement activities, bid processes, specifications, and drawings and compliance considerations May perform other duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; and one (1) year of contract administration, procurement, or related experience is required Water Distribution System Operator's License Wastewater System Collector's License Certified in Land Disturbance and Erosion OSHA30 Construction Safety Certified Knowledge of contractual and financial practices, policies, and procedures as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities Skill in communicating and interacting with subordinates, management, and members of the general public Ability to assemble information and make written reports and documents and to comprehend, interpret, and apply regulations, procedures, and related information Three (3) years of contract administration, procurement, or related experience is preferred Company Overview City of Atlanta is a website provides information on services and happenings of Atlanta.
