Driver Helper
About the position
Waste Connections, Inc. is seeking a safety-conscious Driver Helper to join the A.J. Blosenski, Inc. team at our Honey Brook, PA location. In this role, you will assist the driver of a garbage truck on specified routes to manually collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites. This position is crucial in ensuring that our waste collection services run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of providing excellent waste management services to our communities. As a Driver Helper, your typical job duties will include riding on the garbage truck to assist the driver in servicing customers, which involves loading refuse bags and bringing containers to the truck for proper disposal. You will also be responsible for directing the truck driver when backing up, assisting with vehicle maintenance, and operating packing mechanisms and levers to activate the loading arm. Additionally, you will be tasked with cleaning the packer blade and truck body, delivering positive customer service interactions, and performing other job-related duties as assigned. This is a very physical job that requires working outside in all weather conditions, making it essential for candidates to be physically fit and able to handle the demands of the role. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year of physical labor experience in the trash industry or a similar physically intense job. This position operates on a Monday to Friday day shift schedule, with occasional Saturdays required. Responsibilities
