Experience: Minimum of 3 years
License: Active RN license or compact license required
Certifications: None specified
Must-Have: 3M/Solventum experience required
Description:
Clinical Documentation Specialists are responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation by inpatient providers.
They facilitate modifications to documentation through extensive interaction with physicians and clinical staff to ensure the appropriateness of documentation.
The specialists ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting of physician and medical outcomes.
They coordinate with coding teams to ensure the most accurate representation of the patient's illness and treatment.
Education for all members of the patient care team regarding clinical documentation occurs on an ongoing basis.
A full-time commitment of 8 active hours per weekday is expected.
Time-tracking tools and team check-ins are utilized to keep everyone aligned to ensure productivity and accountability.
Daily workload expectations include 5-10 new cases daily, with a maximum of 15 new cases.
Rereviews of 15-20 are expected daily, with a maximum of 30 rereviews.
Attendance at a weekly department huddle on Thursdays is required.
VDI access will be provided; however, a work computer will not be provided.
