DO-26-414 - Junior DevOps Engineer (AWS/ CI/CD Focus)

Next Phase Solutions and Services, Inc. is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support a federal healthcare analytics program. This role involves supporting and monitoring CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting deployment issues, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure while collaborating with developers and the operations team. Responsibilities Support and monitor CI/CD pipelines, ensuring successful builds and deployments Troubleshoot pipeline and deployment issues with guidance from senior engineers Assist with provisioning and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.) Work with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation) to support environment setup Support containerization applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes Monitor system performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana Collaborate with developers and the operations team during deployments and issue resolution Skills Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, or similar) through: internships, personal projects or early professional experience Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) Experience working in a Linux or command-line environment Exposure to Docker or containerization concepts Ability to clearly explain your technical experience and problem-solving approach Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment 0 -2 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related technical role, including hands-on experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines through internships, structured training programs, or professional environments Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with others to meet project objectives Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code Exposure to Kubernetes (EKS or similar) Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) Scripting experience (Python, Bash) AWS Certification (Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate) Benefits Choose from three medical healthcare plans Dental and Vision Insurance plans.
